Match 1>30/04/06(Torrance bridge back towards the Stables)
weather over cast with a light breeze, cool. Water coloured.

Charlie Roberts and John Smoat with John Smoat winning with 2lb 14 oz played out a very tight match. 2oz ahead of Charlie Roberts
with 2lb12oz. Third place was a draw between John Keir and Willie Harper with 1lb 14oz.
The fishing was good with all anglers catching, mostly small Roach and Rudd with the odd Perch.
The fish were taking pinkies or maggot and the bait hardly ever got to the bottom. A good days fishing.

Match 2>14/05/06(Torrance bridge back towards the Stables)
Weather over cast with a light breeze, cool, Turning too cold and raining. Water coloured.

On the coldest day for a while Charlie Roberts Won the Match with 1lb 12oz second was John Smoat with 1lb 7oz
third John Keir forth Willie Harper14oz and last was Stan Kulis. The fishing was very slow with every one Catching
small Roach Rudd And Perch.

Match 3>28/05/06 (Stillwater)
weather over cast cool and windy. Water coloured.

On a normal summer day cold (big Willie had a hood up and a jacket on that's how cold it was)
John Smoat won the match using the rod and waggler for a weight of 5lb 1oz.
Second was Willie Harper with 2lb 7oz and a close third was Charlie Roberts with 2lb 5oz.
it was a very difficult day with the wind and John Smoat using the rod made all the difference.

Match 4>11/06/06(Dullater)
weather over cast cool and windy. Water coloured.

On a very hard day John Keir won with 1lb 11oz. That included an 11oz Eel; the rest had 1 or 2 small roach
on a wrist-slashing day.

Match 5>25/06/06(Firhill Basin)
weather warm bright/sunny and windy water clear

On arriving at the basin to find we had some pegs. (2 out of 3 full of weed)
John Smoat won the match with 2lb 6oz in peg 1 (with no weed).
The others struggled but caught. John Smoat had 2 nice Roach 1 of witch was 14 oz.
Conclusion Willie Harper should not be allowed to suggest venues.

Match 6>09/07/06(Torrance bridge back towards Cadder)
Weather: Warm and rainy sunny. (Typical) water: clear, lots of weed cover

On a beautiful stretch of canal full a Lilly pads and millions of fry
Willie Harper won the match with 2lb 11oz of small Perch and Roach
John Smoat was second with 2lb 4oz. With thousands of fry in every
swim the bigger fish must be gorging on them early and late and are
not that interested in anglers bait during the day, but it looks good for the future.

Winner Willie Harper with 2lb 1oz. Second Billy Brownlee 1lb 3oz. Third John Keir 1lb.
all fish caught were small Roach and Perch.

Match 8> 20/08/06(Briggs towards Milton)
weather over cast with a light rain, warm, water clear

Fish caught from the start, but fished better after a barge went through and coloured up the water.
Lots of Roach and Perch in the 1 to 2oz range some better fish also caught.

Not for the first time Charlie Roberts was piped by an ounce. This time by two people
how much next time, maybe even by Stan.

Match 9>03/09/06(Torrance bridge)
weather drizzle rain, cool, water clear.

After a couple of days of rain the water temperature was very low
and the fishing was very slow. The odd Roach and Perch were
caught. John Smoat won the match with 2lb. Willie Harper was
second with a 1lb

Match 10>17/09/06(Springwater)
Weather drizzle rain, cool, water coloured.

As is usual it fished well lots of Roach and Perch, but no bigger fish showed up this time.
Willie Harper won with 6lb 12oz second John Keir 3lb 10 oz and Charlie Roberts 3lb8oz.
New member Stan Kulis SMASHED his personal best with 1lb 6oz. Nice one Stan.

Match 11>01/10/06(Springwater)
Weather: warm bright turning to rain later.

On a very mixed day Willie Harper won the match with 5lb 8oz
with Charlie Roberts second with 3lb and a very nice big Rudd.
Billy Brownlee Came third with 1lb 11oz, forcing John Smoat
into 4^th with 1lb 8oz and making for an interesting final match
with two anglers on the same points. A disappointing day as the
fishing is usually a lot better at this fishery.

Match 12>15/10/06(The Brigg’s towards Torrance bridge)
Weather: Misty cold breezy. water: clear very little cover.

The final match of 06 Willie Harper won with 10oz of small Roach and Perch.
With the same size of fish John Smoat came second with 7oz. John Keir was third with 3oz.
